What is Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy comes from the heat within the earth in the form of magma. If you have seen the heat of a volcano then you have seen geothermal energy in its extreme.
There are commercial geothermal projects which tap the earth's extreme heat but residential homes can not use this type of extreme heat. Most residential geothermal applications use buried pipes filled with liquid to capture the constant ground heat. Generally, the earth maintains a consistent temperature of 50 to 60 degrees about 5 to 6 feet down.
This constant heat can be used to heat and cool your home.
